Happy Birthday Jesus

It was a great day filled with family and friends. The kids slept in until about 7:30 a.m. which was nice, but the excitement that Santa came was thrilling to all. It is funny how they have to play with every single gift , nothing can wait until tomorrow. Smiles were plentiful and tantrums were few as we enjoyed our day together.

Christmas Eve Service

We attended the "Family" service for our Christmas Eve worship time and it was bit, well childish. We sang silly songs, learned about the arrival of Jesus, played instruments that had been taped to the bottom of our chairs and waved glow sticks in the air.

Last year we took a family photo in front of the tree and Sam felt like we should make it a tradition.

Baking Part 4

Chocolate! I wanted to try a few new things this year and I saw a recipe for chocolate covered Oreo balls. It was super easy and quite tasty.

Since I had some extra chocolate left I threw in some Ritz crackers which also turned out quite tasty.

The only sad part was we ended up dropping all these items on the floor shortly after moving them into there storage containers : (

I thought it might be easier if we spread our holiday baking up over several days. First we made gingerbread men.

It was Sam's idea to make the cookies.

Today was Sam's play at school and it was a treat that both Eric and I got to go. The kids were giddy with excitement and it was a wonderful gift to see.

A New Bond

Life is about to change now that Josie has her on video game system. No more trying to be just like big brother by stealing his game and driving him crazy. We had never seen them sit so close, for so long without trying to kill each other. Ahhhhhh, it feels so good and yet somehow a little wrong at the same time. Regardless, we are seeing a new bond between our children and a little piece and quite for us.

Under the Sea

Happy Birthday Josie

We all went "under the sea" for Josie's 4th Birthday party. Attempting to turn our basement into Ariel's world by adding fish, seaweed and blue tinted lighting we all enjoyed our underwater oasis. Everyone had a blast searching for treasure, hitting the pinata, eating cake and ice cream and running with the balloons.
