My TOOTH!

The moment has come that my littlest has lost her first tooth. A milestone in growing older and it has left me with a bit of sadness.

With Sam's first tooth I sat with him for 20 minutes as he wiggled back and forth and I cheered him on. We shared the moment together. Josie has always been more independent than her brother, but sometimes I don't like it. Today after arriving home from work she let me know her tooth was loose. After a quick inspection and agreeing it was loose, but not that loose I gave a quick smile and she ran off to play. Less than 10 minutes later I hear her shout "MY TOOTH CAME OUT, MY TOOTH CAME OUT, MOMMY MY TOOTH CAME OUT!" What? I ran to see indeed she had pulled that tooth out on her own. Without my guidance or me cheering her on, my independent little girl was so proud of herself.

With the tooth pillow from my childhood.

Now, Josie knows there is no tooth fairy, so she reluctantly left her tooth out all night in the pillow. She wanted the money, but she didn't want to give up the tooth itself. You see having the tooth to show people was more important. She wouldn't even let me tell Grandma what happened, she needed to show her. Before bedtime she made me promise not to take her tooth away. I have her tooth saved in a safe place. Shhhsssh-  I also have ALL of Sam's teeth saved.

Changes

Overall it has been a very hard 6 months and when things aren't going well you don't really want to talk about them. We have had plenty of good times too, so I don't want to make it sound all bad...we just needed some time to adjust to living our new lifestyle. We have changed where we live, how we eat and how we spend our money and our time. We are refocusing on family & health, plus our spiritual, mental and physical well being. I am hoping by the end of 2012 the changes we have made will make us stronger, happier and closer to God and each other. For now we count our blessings, and our hearts are overflowing with them.
