Easter

The meaning of Easter has changed for us over the last few years. I mean we always knew why we celebrated Easter, but we lived the commercial Easter not the real meaning. This year we wanted to changed that. We did color eggs and the kids did hunt for them in the yard, but not because of the Easter bunny. But we also sat in the early morning sun together as a family and told the story of Jesus's death and resurrection. We did this with the help of an egg opening kit that at certain points in the story the kids would get to open an egg and see what was hidden inside. A donkey, a cup, a crown, a piece of cloth, a cross, a stone, this is a new family tradition for us. What a beautiful way to honor our God, sharing His story and thanking Him, praying to him and showing Him our love for all He gave us.

Trouble Maker

My spirited daughter has some bad habits. Now that she can write several words she has been vandalizing our house with anything she gets her hands on. Today she crossed the line when she carved her name into the tailgate of the truck. When I asked her why she did that, she said "How do you know it was me?" I responded, "Honey if you want someone else to take the blame you better write someone else's name next time."

My cousins wedding

My cousin Adam got married on April 9, to a beautiful girl named Emily.

The weather was perfect for a spring wedding...

So I decided to wear a hat.
